This fun experience takes place at Sotto 303 N Henry Street in downtown Madison. Led by Luis Armacanqui, this is taking place every Wednesday. They are hosting Bachata and Salsa lessons from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. This event launched on Wednesday, October 24th, and will be continuing weekly. These classes are open to the public and conveniently scheduled at the same time as Sotto’s happy hour (5:30 – 7:30 p.m.).
The Capitol Social is a social Latin dance event “for dancers by dancers.” They strive to create a safe, welcoming, enjoyable, and unique community where dancers of all levels can find value and inspiration to pursue Latin dance with awesome vibra.
”It was fun, engaging. It is very grounding to experience humility with a bunch of strangers, but by the end of the class, we all knew each other.” said Chani Danforth, who was my accomplice during the class. This was our first time learning Latin dance. I went from saying “hay dios mio” because I was falling over myself, to saying “hay dios mio’ when I finally got the steps.
After the class, we grabbed another Milagro (shot) and put our new skills to the test. This was un evento muy perfecto para un Miércoles.
